The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising is giving Viewers’ Club members an exciting chance to visit this collection with a 2-for-1 ticket offer.
The Robert Opie Collection has moved from Gloucester to a new London home in this museum, located in Notting Hill, just off the world famous Portobello Road. Thousands of examples of British consumer culture from over the past 120 years are included in nostalgic and evocative exhibits. Everyone's memories are here - childhood toys, favourite fashions and teenage magazines. Decade by decade, this fascinating story unravels from Victorian times, through austerity Britain to the swinging Sixties, showing 12,000 original items, from motorcars, music, television, holidays and entertainment, to branded groceries, sweets and household goods. By walking through the Museum’s time tunnel you can trace changes in social taste and the evolution of graphic design, along with the development of marketing and advertising skills.
